In this project you will be woodburning clean lines, relief carving, using Gourd beads for accent, and learn how to apply Vellum as the background when assembling the lamp to the base.

Student Brings: Woodburner with your favorite blade tip pen, Dremel or carver with a filigree style bit, and a heat gun.

Instructor Provides: Pattern and handouts, prepared gourd, press n seal, pens, dyes, gloves; and photo of sample. All beads, vellum and lamp fixture with base.
All levels: Max 15

Invite a Chicken to Dinner

Students will sculpt a chicken using a small pear gourd and Quickwood. You will learn techniques that can be used for gourd art for years to come.

Student Brings: An apron, metal pallet knife, and a small container for water. A non stick craft sheet would be helpful.

Instructor Provides: Gourd, written instructions, photos, Quickwood and Paint.

In this fun class you will learn to sculpt your own Florida flamingo! You will learn to use Quickwood to attach pieces for wings and tail, then sand to a smooth finish. You will then attach dowels for legs, put flamingo on base; and add feet, socks and tennis shoes: or sandals). You will then paint the Flamingo to stand tall and proud.

Student Brings: Dremel with ” sanding drum, water basin, Dewberry One Stroke acrylic brush set (includes ” scruffy, ” flat, #12 flat, #2 script liner) This set may be purchased at Sandy’s cost for $18. Please call to order.

Instructor Provides: Maranka gourd, small jewelry gourd, and gourd pieces for wings and tail. Quikwood, paint, dowels for legs, stand, tutorial, and all other supplies needed. All levels: Max 10

Students will paint and varnish their gourd, then learn how to add a wonderful crochet skirt around the top.

Student Brings: Apron to protect their clothing, sharp scissors, and a heat gun.

Instructor Provides: Prepared gourd, varnish, paint, brushes, gloves, crochet hooks, thread, tutorial, color picture; and any other supplies needed.
All levels: Min 2 Max 12
